Flavours of Spain 2025
On 6 November, La Cámara hosted its flagship annual event — Flavours of Spain — an evening dedicated to showcasing the richness of Spanish gastronomy and culture.
Over 400+ guests moved from one experience to the next: tasting creative bites during our member-restaurant tapas competition, enjoying a captivating flamenco performance, and gathering around the much-anticipated giant paella as it simmered to perfection.
The atmosphere was lively, colourful, and full of the unmistakable warmth of Spanish hospitality.
A wonderful celebration of food, culture, and community — and one of our most memorable editions yet.

Luncheon with H.E. Ambassador of Spain
On the 13th of November, La Cámara was honoured to join a distinguished luncheon hosted by Spain’s Ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. José Luis Pardo Cuerdo, featuring expert insights from Dr. Tricia Yeoh (University of Nottingham Malaysia) into Malaysia’s evolving role within ASEAN.
During lunch, members discussed opportunities emerging from global trade shifts — from rare-earth supply chains to semiconductor growth. As always, La Cámara remains committed to forging connections, fostering business diplomacy, and championing cross-regional collaboration between Spain, Malaysia, and beyond.

Volunteering at Rumah Cheshire
La Cámara seeks to volunteer on a monthly basis at Rumah Cheshire, supporting the residents through shared activities and community engagement.
On the 7th of October, our team and members joined together to contribute time, energy, and companionship — reinforcing our commitment to social responsibility and community connection.
This initiative reflects our ongoing efforts to give back and strengthen ties beyond the business community. We look forward to continuing collaborations with Rumah Cheshire and other organisations creating positive impact in Malaysia.
Let's Play Padel Let's Talk
On 10 September 2025, La Cámara kicked off its very first Members-Only Padel Night — and what an energetic debut it was!
Members hit the courts for a lively evening of friendly matches, good company, refreshing drinks, and delicious Spanish croquetas courtesy of Mercat.
A great start to what will surely become one of our favourite recurring activities.
Here’s to many more padel nights ahead!
Lunch with EU Parliament
La Cámara was honoured to be invited to a special lunch hosted by the European Parliament during the 46th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46).
The meeting brought together key European and ASEAN representatives to discuss EU–ASEAN cooperation, including the ongoing Malaysia–EU FTA negotiations.
Our participation reflects La Cámara’s growing role in regional dialogue, strengthening bridges between the business community and policymakers, and ensuring the Spanish voice is present in conversations shaping ASEAN’s economic future.

On the 23rd of July, we were delighted to visit ROCA Malaysia, our silver sponsor, at ARCHIDEX 2025 — Asia’s premier architecture, interior design, and building exhibition. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with their team, explore the latest innovations in the industry, and strengthen ties within our Spanish–Malaysian business community.

Monthly BOD Dinner - Iberico Kitchen

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our very first monthly dinner, hosted at the fantastic Ibérico Kitchen! It was a pleasure to bring our BOD members together for an evening of great conversations, meaningful networking, and, of course, unforgettable Ibérico flavours.
We also took a moment to bid farewell to Álvaro from Meliá. We’re grateful for his active involvement in our community and wish him all the very best in his next chapter.

Spain-Singapore Business Summit
On July 16th & 17th, La Cámara was honoured to be included in the recent update by EuroCham Malaysia highlighting growing bilateral trade between Spain and Singapore. We are excited to welcome our newest corporate member, LALIGA.

A productive meeting takes place with MIDA - Transport Division, with La Cámara represented by BOD member Diego Vivancos from Arquimea, Che Mardikawati Abdullah from Indra, Amir Shariff from BCN Smart Technologies, and our General Manager, Carol Edwin.

AI x Human Workforce
We had the pleasure of attending InvestKL & Asia School of Business's AI x Human Workforce - Leveraging the Best from Both Worlds.
We heard from CEO of InvestKL, Datuk Mohammad Azmi Zulkifli as well as CEO, President & Dean of Asia School of Business, Professor Sanjay Sarma.
While there is a lot that AI can do more efficiently than humans, there is a lot more than human can do that AI can't. Identifying this is how we stay ahead.

Building Skills for an Artificial Intelligence Economy
La Cámara, along with La French Tech Malaysia and supported by CCIFM and Italcham Malaysia, organized a collaborative panel on how Artificial Intelligence will transform the future of work.
Experts discussed whether AI will replace or redefine human expertise, how roles will evolve in an automated world, and whether education should focus on AI-related technical skills or uniquely human traits like creativity and critical thinking.
