Yesterday, we successfully held our Annual General Meeting (AGM), marking an incredible milestone of growth, transition, and celebration for La Cámara. We kicked off the day by reviewing this year's achievements and casting our votes for the new Board.
The event took place at the stunning facilities of COSENTINO, a fantastic Spanish company that we are thrilled to welcome as one of our newest members this year. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Melia Kuala Lumpur for generously sponsoring the event, and to Mercat Food & Beverage Sdn Bhd for treating us to an absolutely delicious dinner.
We were deeply honored to welcome several VIP guests who joined us for this special occasion, including Sabihah Ahamad, Vice President of Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), Jacob lee, President of Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM), and Dato' Seri WONG SIEW HAI, President of the Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association.
Our gratitude also goes to Ana Andrés Hernández as Chargée d’Affaires ad interim Embassy of Spain in KL, and to Juan Guía García Counsellor from the Spanish Trade Office in Kuala Lumpur - Embassy of Spain, for their continuous institutional support.
Furthermore, we want to share a very special thank you with all our former Board members who attended the event. Your ongoing support for our activities is invaluable, and none of this would have been possible without the foundation you helped build.
This AGM marks a deeply emotional transition for La Cámara as we say goodbye to three pillars of our organization. First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to Jordi Pol Ramon (BCN Smart Technologies Sdn Bhd), who concludes his mandate as Chairman. Quite simply, La Cámara would not have come this far without his tireless dedication over the years. We are incredibly grateful that he will continue to guide us in his new role as Chamber Advisor. We also want to express our deepest gratitude to CK Chew (Finlux), who is stepping down after a few exceptional years as our Treasurer and to Diego Vivancos (ARQUIMEA) a key member in every single decision made these last years.
Looking ahead, we are immensely proud to announce that our Board is growing and diversifying. Please join us in welcoming our three new Board members: Virginia Wong (Melia Kuala Lumpur), Melba Martín (IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture), and Ts. Iezawani Zainuri, MBA (Applus+). We are truly proud of the steps we are taking toward a more inclusive and dynamic leadership.
Finally, we are delighted to announce our new leadership team. Walter Philip PATTYNAMA (Molecor South East Asia) will take on the role of Chairman, supported by Fernando Carrasco Schirmer (BPConsulting Business Performance Consulting) as Vice Chairman, and Sharynn Boon from Ibérico Kitchen as Treasurer.
